Evan Christopher is one of the most distinctive voices in jazz clarinet working today. A New Orleans resident since the early 1990s, he has devoted his career to extending the legacies of the Crescent City's great Creole clarinetists — Sidney Bechet, Omer Simeon, Barney Bigard — while pushing the tradition into genuinely contemporary territory.
