The first taste of Suit Yourself
Judith Owen has been a pillar of the New Orleans music community for years — performing at venues across the city and recording from her home studio. Her upcoming album Suit Yourself marks another chapter in a career built on restless creativity and sharp emotional instinct.
"That's Why I Love My Baby" is the lead single from that record, and we had the privilege of producing the music video.
Out in the streets
Judith had always wanted to shoot a music video live during Mardi Gras — out in the crowd, interacting with real people, no controlled set. So that's exactly what we did. No stages, no lighting rigs, no second takes. Just Judith, a camera crew, and the energy of the city at its most electric.
There's a risk to shooting that way — you can't art-direct a parade during Mardi Gras. But there's also a truth to it that you can't fake on a soundstage. What you see in the video is what actually happened.

One of the reasons we built Fish Pot was to support the kind of artists who take their craft seriously — people like Judith who've been doing this for decades and still bring everything to every take. Not every project needs a studio. Sometimes it just needs the right people in the right place at the right time.
